Piaggo has rolled out BS6-compliant version of its three scooters – Vespa VXL, Vespa SXL and Aprilia Storm 125. The 2020 Vespa VXL and SXL with 125cc engine have been priced at Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.14 lakh respectively, the updated Vespa VXL and SXL 150 are available at Rs 1.22 lakh and Rs 1.27 lakh respectively. The 2020 Aprilia Strom 125 can be purchased at Rs 91,321. All prices are ex-showroom, Pune.
The two-wheeler maker has confirmed that the new Vespa range and BS6 Aprillia Storm can be pre-booked online via e-commerce platforms or at any authorized dealerships. Buyers can avail benefits worth Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 via online booking of the new Vespa and Aprillia models.
Powering the 2020 Vespa VXL and SXL 125 models is a 124.45cc air-cooled SOHC 3-valve FI single-cylinder engine pushing out a peak power of 9.79bhp at 7,500rpm and 9.60Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The updated 150 models use a 149.5cc engine delivering a claimed power of 10.33bhp at 7,600rpm and 10.60Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
The new BS6 Vespa range continues to feature full LED headlamp with DRLs, petal design alloy wheels, a twin-piston disc brake, combined braking system, USB charging port and other features. The 2020 Aprilia Strom 125 receives 12-inch alloy wheels with wide cross pattern tyres and a semi digital instrument cluster.
