As the BS6 emission norms will be enforced from 1 April 2020, all two-wheeler and four-wheeler manufacturers are upgrading their product portfolio to meet the new standards. The Italian scooter brand, Piaggio will soon join the bandwagon with other two-wheeler makers.
The company has already started dispatching the 2020 Vespa SXL 150 BS6 scooter to its dealership. In fact, certain dealers have begun accepting bookings for the vehicle at a token amount of Rs 2,000. One must note that the booking amount may vary dealership-wise. Deliveries of the BS6 Vespa scooter are likely to commence in the coming weeks.
Visually, the 2020 Vespa BS6 scooter looks exactly similar to the existing model. Though, it gets a semi-digital instrument console with a different background. The updated model uses the BS6-compliant version of the 154.8cc engine boosted with fuel injection technology instead of the carburettor. Its power and torque figures stand at 10.4bhp and 10.9Nm respectively.
With the BS6 upgrade, the 2020 Vespa scooters will see a price hike of up to Rs 19,000. Prior to the official announcement, the prices of the updated models have been leaked on the web.
