Tata Nexon facelift spied

Homegrown automaker, Tata Motors is readying the facelift versions of the Nexon, Tiago and the Tigor subcompact sedan. All three models are currently in final stages of testing and expected to be launched during Auto Expo 2020. Clear pictures of the updated Tata Nexon have been leaked on the internet.

Going by the pictures, it is visible that the 2020 Tata Nexon facelift shares a lot of its styling with the Nexon EV. The SUV comes equipped with heavily revised front fascia with a squarish design, featuring revised bumper, headlamps and grille. It also gets new bonnet and front bumper design. The SUV features slimmer grille that looks similar to that of the Harrier. It sports revised fog lamp clusters, new headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps).

With new changes, the updated Nexon comply with latest pedestrian protection norms that come into effect in October 2020. The 2020 Tata Nexon facelift will receive the BSVI compliant 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engines. While the former is good for 108bhp and 172Nm, the oil burner produces 108bhp and 260Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT gearbox.

The 2020 Tata Nexon will also receive subtle changes inside the cabin. It is likely to revise the updated touchscreen infotainment system with modern connectivity features, new upholstery and others. The updated model is likely to receive a price hike of around Rs 50,000. It will directly rival the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue and the upcoming Kia Sonet.
