2020 Tata Harrier BS6 Variants Revealed; Gets 170bhp Engine

Tata Motors is all set to introduce the new 2020 BS6-compliant Harrier SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo. Not just upgraded diesel engine, the SUV will also receive major changes in terms of mechanics as well as features.

The Tata Harrier BS6 will be powered by a 2.0-litre KRYOTEC diesel engine, which is based on the FCA’s 2.0L MJD II engine. In the BS6 form, this powertrain will produce 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. The BS4 engine produces 140bhp and 350Nm of torque. The BS6 diesel engine will also power the soon-to-be launched Tata Gravitas 7-seater SUV.

Tata Harrier Automatic Teased

Tata Motors will introduce the new fully-loaded diesel Automatic variant at the biennial event. The SUV will receive a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox option with manual modes. The diesel-automatic gearbox will be offered in mid-level variants – XMA, XZA and the XZA+. Adding to it, the Tata Harrier XZ+ trim will receive larger 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The other variants will continue to be offered with the 17-inch alloys. The Tata Harrier BS6 will also receive 6-way electrically adjustable drivers’ seat. It is expected that the new top-end variant will also be benefitted with tyre-pressure monitoring system. The SUV will also receive a new dual-tone red with black piano roof colour option.

2020 Tata Harrier BS6 Prices

Apart from the Harrier BS6, Tata will introduce the Gravitas 7-seater SUV, H2X concept based micro SUV, Nexon EV, a mid-sized SUV concept and others at the biennial event. The Tata Harrier BS6 will rival the MG Hector, Jeep Compass and higher-end variants of the Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta.
