The Japanese carmaker has updated the Suzuki Swift Sport in the global markets. The hot hatch now gets a 1.4L turbo petrol engine with a 48V integrated starter-generator and a lithium-ion battery pack. With this update, the Swift Sport not only becomes more fuel economical, but meets the new stringent emission standards as well. The 2020 Suzuki Swift Sport hybrid returns a claimed power of 127bhp against a peak torque of 234Nm. The hot hatch is capable to do 0 to 100kmph in 9.1 seconds and deliver a maximum speed of 210km. Talking about the CO2 emission, the hybrid version of the Swift Sport achieve WLTP certified carbon emission of 127g/km. Its mileage has been increased by 6%. Now, the hot hatch promises a fuel economy of 21.2kmpl.

Official prices of the 2020 Suzuki Swift Sporty hybrid are yet to be revealed by the carmaker. Though, it’s likely to be priced slightly premium over the standard model. Its global launch is likely to happen by the end of April, 2020.

2020 Suzuki Swift Sport Hybrid Interior

As of now, the carmaker has no plan to bring in the Suzuki Swift Sport in the Indian market. At this year’s Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki unveiled the Swift hybrid packed with a 1.2L petrol engine and a 10kW electric motor. The former generates a maximum power of 89bhp and 118Nm of torque. The Swift hybrid comes with a 5-speed AMT gearbox and front wheel drive system.

In the Japanese cycle, the Maruti Swift hybrid delivers a claimed mileage of 32kmpl. The carmaker also revealed an accessorised version of the Swift hatchback featuring black plastic cladding all around the body, grey rear faux skid plates, dual-tone bumper and red exterior paint scheme with contrasting black roof.
