2020 Skoda Octavia Design Leaked; Global Debut On 11th November
The new-generation Skoda Octavia is all set to make its global debut on November 11, 2019. A few days back, the carmaker released first design sketches of the executive sedan. Now, a new picture of the 2020 Skoda Octavia has emerged on the web revealing its exterior design details. Instead of the split headlamps, the sedan gets sleeker single piece units flanked by a more pronounced grille.
The sporty bumper with prominent air vents and new clamshell bonnet inspired by Superb further enhance its new look. The side profile is adorned by prominent shoulder lines running across the length of the car. Other design bits include new tailgate and Audi-like wraparound LED taillamps.
Interior of the 2020 Skoda Octavia is still under the wraps. Though, it’s likely to take inspiration from the Skoda Vision X concept that was showcased at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. It might get a minimalist design along with the centre console integrated a new touchscreen infotainment system.
The 2020 Skoda Octavia will be built on the VW Group’s new MQB platform, thus making it bigger and more spacious than the existing model. Engine setup of the new model will include turbocharged petrol and diesel motors along with a mild hybrid powertrain.
In India, the all-new Octavia is likely to be offered with petrol engines only. Transmission choices might include a manual and DSG automatic units. While its global launch will happen early next year, it will arrive in India in late 2020.
