Unofficial bookings for the 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 have been commenced across the nation. Select dealers are accepting pre-orders at a token sum of Rs 10,000. The updated model of the adventure bike is likely to hit showrooms by the end of this month.

The 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan will receive a BS6-compliant engine along with three new colour schemes. Just so you know, the BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan was showcased in three new shades – Rock Red, Lake Blue and Gravel Grey – at the 2019 EICMA motor show. The same paint schemes will be offered on the new model.

Unlike the BS4 model that comes with Ceat Gripp XL tyres, the BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan will ride on the MRF Meteor dual-purpose front tyre with smaller spoke wheels. In reports are to be believed, the updated model will receive switchable ABS (anti-lock braking system) and hazard warning lights. As mentioned above, the 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan will be powered by the BS6-compliant 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Its BS4 version returns a claimed power of 24.5bhp and a peak torque of 32Nm. For performing transmission duties, the BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan will get the same 5-speed gearbox. With BS6-complaint engine, new paint schemes and minor feature upgrades, the 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan will see a price hike of around Rs 90,000. Currently, the adventure bike comes with a price tag of Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
