We have reported earlier that Renault Kwid facelift that will go on sale in coming months. We have already seen multiple spy pictures of the hatchback updated version revealing its design changes. Recently, the interior pictures have surfaced on the web that confirm that the 2020 Renault Kwid facelift will receive a new instrument cluster and a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system sourced from the Triber MPV.
The new infotainment unit of the hatchback will support the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with Bluetooth connectivity. The central console seems to be borrowed from the Triber. Though, the AC vents are slightly different.
Exterior styling of the 2020 Renault Kwid facelift will also be revised with elements such as new headlamps, LED DRLs, newly-designed grille with horizontal slats, updated front bumper and taillamps with C-shaped LED inserts. The updated Kwid might share some of its design bits with the China-spec Renault City K-ZE electric hatchback.
Under the hood, the 2020 Renault Kwid facelift will continue to feature the 0.8L and 1.0L petrol engine that will be calibrated to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The smaller capacity unit makes 54PS with 72Nm, and the 1.0L motor pushes out 68PS with 91Nm. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.
With minor updates, the 2020 Renault Kwid facelift might see a price hike. The updated lineup is likely to be priced from Rs 2.9 lakh to Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). The hatchback will continue to take on the Maruti Suzuki Alto along with the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and Tata HX2.
