2020 Nissan Kicks Petrol Bookings To Open On 15th May
The Japanese carmaker is ready to give a mid-life update to the Nissan Kicks compact SUV in the country. Pre-bookings for the updated model will be commenced from 15th May, 2020. Its official launch date, however, is yet to be announced by the carmaker. Prior to its release, the variants, features and specifications of the 2020 Nissan Kicks BS6 have been revealed online. The SUV lineup will continue to come in four trims – XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O).
Interestingly, the 2020 Nissan Kicks BS6 will be offered with a 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine with a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox option. As per the leaked information, the new petrol motor will produce a peak power of 156bhp and 254Nm of torque. This will make it more powerful than cars like Kia Seltos (115bhp/140Nm), new Hyundai Creta (115bhp/140Nm) and MG Hector (143bhp/250Nm).
With the new petrol engine, the updated Kicks will offer a fuel economy of 16.3kmpl. The BS6-compliant version of the 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox will also be on offer. The power and torque outputs will stand at 106bhp and 142Nm respectively. It will return a mileage of 14.1kmpl. The entry-level XL and XV trims will be offered with 1.5L petrol-manual and 1.3L turbo petrol-manual combinations respectively. The 2020 Nissan Kicks BS6 will come with the segment-first remote engine start function. It enables user to turn on the vehicle’s engine by pressing and holding a button on the key fob. The SUV will also receive an idle start stop system that will enhance its fuel efficiency. Most of the design elements and features will be carried over from the existing model.
