Official details of the 2020 Nissan Kicks compact SUV have been revealed ahead of its launch. The carmaker has confirmed that the SUV’s updated model will come 7 variants including 5 manual (XL, XV, XV Premium, XV Premium (O)) and 2 automatic (XV and XV Premium) options. The 2020 Kicks’s new 1.3L turbo-petrol motor has been benefited with dual variable timing system ensuring higher torque at low rpm and less emissions. It pushes out a peak power of 156PS and 254Nm of torque, thus making the most powerful petrol vehicle in its segment. Its arch rivals – Creta and Seltos – return 115bhp with 140Nm. The new 1.3L petrol unit is reported to deliver a mileage of 16.3kmpl.

2020 Nissan Kicks Specs

Official power and torque outputs of the BS6-ready 1.5L turbo-petrol engine are yet to be revealed. As per the leaked information, it will produce a maximum power of 106bhp and 142Nm of torque. The carmaker claims that the Kicks’s new X-tronic CVT gearbox will be 40% more efficient than the existing CVTs.

Buyers will have 6 monotone and 3 dual-tone colour options. The monotone shades include Deep Blue Pearl, Blade Silver, Bronze Grey, Night Shade, Pearl White and Fire Red. Interior of the 2020 Nissan Kicks will be more feature-packed. The SUV has leather wrapped premium dual-tone (Brown and Black) interior with leather-wrapped soft touch dashboard, Nissan Connect with Smartwatch connectivity, auto AC with rear AC vent, advance A-IVI with in-built voice recognition feature, around view mirror and several comfort goodies.

The list of safety features include 4 airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability control and traction control system, vehicle stability management system, cruise control and hill start assist. The new Kicks has a class-leading ground clearance of 210mm. Some of its design highlights include automatic headlamps, front fog lamps with cornering function, rain sensing wipers, push button start and rain sensing wiper. The carmaker will offer the 2020 Nissan Kicks with a standard 2 years/50,000km warranty that can be extended upto 5 years at “an attractive price”. The SUV will also come with a free Roadside Assistance subscription for 2 years. Official bookings for the new Kicks are reported to start from 15th May, 2020.
