2020 Maruti Swift Facelift – What We Know So Far
Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the Dzire facelift, which is now equipped with new and more powerful petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki had launched the Swift hatchback in 2018, and is now ready to receive its first upgrade. The Maruti Swift facelift is likely to share the design changes, interior upgrades and mechanical changes with the 2020 Dzire facelift.
In terms of design, the 2020 Maruti Swift facelift will receive limited changes. The updated model comes with majority of the changes in the front. It is likely to receive new bumper, newly-styled fog lamps and grille similar to the Dzire facelift. Other design changes will include revised rear bumper and newly styled alloys.
Similar to the updated Dzire, the AMT equipped version of the Maruti Swift facelift is likely to receive ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and hill hold assist. Adding to it, the hatchback will also receive the cruise control. Other changes will include multi-colour 4.2-inch multi-information display for its instrument cluster, and auto-folding outside rear view mirrors. It will also receive an updated version of the 7-inch SmartPlay studio touchscreen infotainment system. The hatchback could also receive cloud-based services for audio entertainment and display vehicle alerts. Also See – 2020 Maruti Dzire facelift Launched and Other Details
The 2020 Maruti Swift facelift is also expected to receive the new 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine, which also powers the Dzire facelift and the Baleno. This engine is capable of producing 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque. Compared to the current 1.2L engine, the new DualJet engine produces 7PS more power.
The Maruti Dzire facelift also offers higher fuel efficiency. It now returns 23.26kmpl in manual and 24.14kmpl in the automated manual transmission versions. The pre-facelift was claimed to deliver 21.21kmpl. Similar to the updated Dzire, the Swift facelift will receive auto stop-start function. The Maruti Swift facelift is expected to be launched in mid-2020, most probably around July-August. The hatchback is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 5.25 lakh to Rs 8.50 lakh.
