2020 Maruti Swift Facelift Leaked – First Picture, Details

Recently, the Indo-Japanese carmaker introduced an updated touchscreen infotainment system to the Maruti Suzuki Swift model lineup. In coming months, the company will give a mid-life update to the hatchback. Ahead of its official launch, the first picture and colour details of the 2020 Maruti Swift facelift have been leaked on the web. However, the image surfaced is of the Japan-spec model.

As per the leaked brochure scan, the Swift’s new model will feature a new honeycomb mesh radiator grille with a pronounced chrome strip and a revised bumper at the front end. The dual-tone alloy wheels will further enhance its new look. As of now, there is no clarity whether the India-spec Swift facelift will get aforementioned updated or not.

2020 Maruti Swift Facelift Engine

Interior details of the 2020 Maruti Swift facelift are not available. Though, it’s likely to receive new seat fabrics and accents. The updated 7.0-incht SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system will be retained by the hatchback. Features such as cruise control, auto folding exterior mirrors might also be on offer. The biggest change will be made in the engine bay. The 2020 Maruti Swift facelift will use a 1.2L Dualjet, Dual VVT petrol SHVS engine that was recently introduced on the updated Dzire. It will replace the existing 1.2L K12B petrol engine. Compared to its replacement, the Dualjet motor will be more powerful and fuel efficient. On Dzire facelift, the petrol engine delivers a claimed power of 90PS and 113Nm of torque.

Transmissions on offer will be a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. Since the updated Swift will share its powertrain with the new Dzire, it will be as fuel economical as its sedan sibling. Its mileage figure will stand at 23.26kmpl (MT) and 24.14kmpl (AT).
