2020 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol will be the next product launch from the Indo-Japanese carmaker in the country. Prices of the updated model will be announced in the last week of July, 2020. The 2020 model year of the crossover will ditch the BS4-compliant 1.3L diesel engine for a BS6-ready 1.5L K15B petrol engine. The latter one made its debut on the Ciaz sedan model lineup. The naturally-aspirated petrol motor pushes out a peak power of 105bhp against 138Nm of torque. This makes it 15bhp more powerful than the BS4 1.3L diesel unit. The new petrol version of the S-Cross will be offered with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox option. The automatic transmission will be reserved for the higher trims. Unlike the BS4 diesel manual variants that have Suzuki’s SHVS as standard, the BS6-compliant automatic models will be exclusively offered with the mild hybrid system.
The 2020 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross model lineup will be spread across four trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Design, features and interior layout will remain changed. When it comes to prices, the 2020 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol will be slightly more affordable than its BS4 diesel version. The latter was available in the price range of Rs 8.81 lakh – Rs 11.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Read – Over 1.34 Lakh Maruti WagonR, Baleno Recalled In India
Prices of the new petrol S-Cross are likely to start from Rs 8.50 lakh for the entry-level Sigma manual variant and go up to Rs 11.50 lakh for the fully-loaded Alpha automatic variant. If launched at this price point, it will take head-to-head against the Renault Duster that’s currently available in the price range of Rs 8.49 lakh – Rs 10.00 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi). The Duster has been offered with a 1.5L petrol engine along with a 5-speed manual gearbox and FWD (front-wheel-drive) system.
