2020 Maruti Ignis Facelift Unveiled At Auto Expo

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the updated version of the Ignis at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020. The compact car will come in four trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha – packed with a BS6-compliant 1.2L K12M petrol engine. The compact car continues to come with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. Official bookings for the new Ignis have been commenced across the nation. The carmaker says that the new Ignis will soon go on sale in India.

Visually, the 2020 Maruti Ignis looks slightly different than the old model (especially the front end). The compact car gets a newly-designed grille as we have seen on the S-Presso. The facelifted Ignis is available in a choice of 9 colours – Nexa Blue, Glistening Grey, Uptown Red, Tinset Blue, Silky Silver, Pearl Arctic White, Tinsel Blue with Pearl Arctic White, Tinsel Blue with Midnight Black and Uptown Red with Midnight Black. Similar to the new Maruti Vitara Brezza, the 2020 Maruti Ignis gets a new SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) along with Bluetooth and USB options. The car comes with new upholstery and interior theme.

Safety features such as rear parking sensor, rear defogger, rear view parking camera, speed sensing auto door locking and driver seat belt reminder are reserved for the top-spec Alpha trim. The dual front airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners with force limiters, ABS with EBD and a speed alert system are standard across the range.
