The new spy pictures of the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 hint that the SUV’s next-generation model might get connected screens for the instrument cluster similar to the Kia Seltos. Reports suggest that the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 could be based on the new Ssangyong Korando sharing some of its design bits and components. The latter one comes with features such as a 10.5-inch fully digital instrument cluster, ambient mood lighting and up to 9-inch infotainment system with TomTom navigation system.
The new-generation XUV500 could also be offered with a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, and dual-zone climate control with ventilation function for the front seats. Some of its key design changes will include a larger grille, newly-designed headlamps, sleeker airdam, a long hood, plush-fitting door handles, a shark fin antenna, roof rails, a more sculpted tailgate and new taillamps.
Under the hood, the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 might feature the BS6-compliant 2.0L petrol and diesel engines. The new diesel powertrain will be more powerful than the existing 2.2L oil burner. The new-generation Mahindra XUV500 could be put up on display at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. Its launch is likely to happen in the second half of 2020. Prices will be more or less similar to the existing model that comes in the price range of Rs 12.22 lakh – Rs 18.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
