2020 Mahindra Thar Rendered Based On Recent Spy Shots
2020 Mahindra Thar will use a new Magna chassis and a new diesel engine.
2019 has started and the new-generation Mahindra Thar is inching closer to its 2020 debut. We have already seen our fair share of its spy pictures, and putting good use of them IAB rendered the new Mahindra Thar 2020. The SUV’s second-generation model will carry an evolutionary design with distanced grille slots underlining the increased width, more horizontal hood and side air inlets integrated in the rounder front bumper.
The new Mahindra Thar 2020, however, will retain the signature seven-slot vertical front grille design, round halogen headlamps, an upright windscreen and front fender mounted turn indicators. Reports suggest that Mahindra will use a new Magna chassis for the new-generation Thar and Scorpio SUVs. The new architecture will have 10 per cent less wheel articulation and is likely to enhance performance and drivability of the vehicle. The new Mahindra Thar 2020 will also have more robust body built and meet the BNVSAP’s crash test norms.
The list of standard safety features might include driver airbags, speed alert system and rear parking sensors. The rear parking camera and front passenger airbag could be optional. The new Mahindra Thar 2020 will also offer a touchscreen infotainment system that might be compatible to smartphone connectivity. At the engine front, the new Mahindra Thar 2020 will feature a new 2.0-litre diesel motor that might be paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This oil burner will deliver power close to 140bhp and torque over 300Nm.
