2020 Mahindra Thar Interior Details Leaked; Debut At 2020 Auto Expo
The latest spy pictures of the 2020 Mahindra Thar reveal a bunch its interior details. The SUV’s all-new model gets a newly-designed dashboard and centre console. The beige leather seats and new circular AC vents with chrome surrounds enhance its new look. The front power window controls and a set of cup holders are placed between the seats.
The new Thar also comes with the three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls. The gearbox unit and the transfer case have been slightly shifted to the left side of the gear lever. The MID (multi information display) unit is bigger than the existing one. Features such as cruise control and lumbar adjustment are also on offer.
Comprehensive changes have also been made to its exterior. The 2020 Mahindra Thar features a new front grille, revised front and rear bumpers, fog lamps, five-spoke alloy wheels, front fender mounted turn indicators, a hard top roof and a rear door mounted spare tyre. At the engine front, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will receive a BS6-compliant 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine replacing the existing 2.5L oil burner. The new motor will be hooked to a 6-speed manual gearbox and will return power around 140bhp and torque over 350Nm.
Reports suggest that the 2020 Mahindra Thar might come with a 140bhp, 2.2L petrol engine borrowed from the Mahindra XUV500. The SUV could also be offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox option.
