The American SUV manufacturer has revealed the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept via official pictures. Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand, FCA North America, said that the new concept will deliver “an incredible and unmatched level of fun-to-drive performance and capability, on-and-off-road.” Here’re 5 things that you need to know about the new Jeep SUV concept.
1. Powerful Engine
Interestingly, the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept derives its name from its engine. The SUV concept features a 6.4L ‘392 Hemi’ naturally-aspirated V8 engine paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It delivers power either axle through a Selec-Trac full-time 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system. The motor makes a claimed power of 450bhp and a peak torque of 610Nm. 2. Serious Off-road Capabilities
Jeep’s new SUV concept is equipped with several advanced tech that make it compatible for all kinds of terrain. It will posses some serious off-road capabilities, thanks to its front and rear electronic locking differentials, Dana 44 axles, Rubicon rock rails, Beadlock wheels, Warn winch, 2.0-inch lift by Fox shock absorbers, 37-inch off-road tyres, steel bumpers and a ground clearance of 338mm. Its approach, departure and breakover angles stand at 29.5 degrees, 40.1 degrees and 29.5 degrees respectively.
3. Rugged Design
Painted in Granite Crystal shade, the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept has Bronze accentuated tow hooks, badging, springs, shocks and wheels. The heavy-duty raised performance hood further enhances its rugged and aggressive looks. 4. Premium Interior
As of now, the interior details are scanty. Though, the carmaker has confirmed that the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept comes with rich Red Rock-colored leather bolstered seats with gold stitching and a performance steering wheel.
5. Production and Launch
The new Jeep off-road SUV concept is likely to enter production in the near future. It might be made available in the North American markets only.
