2020 Isuzu D-Max and S-Cab pick-up trucks have finally been launched in India. The updated range includes a total of five variants priced from Rs 7.84 lakh to Rs 10.07 lakh. The D-Max Cab Chassis is the most affordable variant priced at Rs 7.84 lakh. While the D-Max Super Strong with 1240kg payload capacity comes with a price tag of Rs 8.28 lakh, the Super Strong with 1710kg payload capacity costs Rs 8.38 lakh. The D-Max S-Cab Standard and S-Cab Hi-Ride have been offered at Rs 9.82 lakh and Rs 10.07 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai.
The pick-up trucks receive noticeable changes inside and out along with the BS6 engines. The new models are the first BS6-compliant offerings from the Japanese carmaker in the country. At the heart of the 2020 Isuzu D-Max and S-Cab is a 1.9L diesel engine that now comply with the BS6 emission standards. The updated motor produces a peak power of 78bhp at 3800rpm and 176Nm of torque between 1500-2400rpm. The pick-up trucks come with a 5-speed manual gearbox and 2WD (two-wheel-drive) system.
The front fascia of the new models looks quite refreshing, thanks to its newly-designed headlamps, LED lights and fog lamps. The side profile, however, remains largely unchanged. Though, it gets the new set of wheels. A few changes have also been made to its interior. The 2020 Isuzu D-Max and S-Cab receives vertically positioned air vents, analogue instrument console and rotary control dials.
Features such as fabric seats, AC unit with heater, power steering with tilt adjustment, moulded roof lining, ORVMs with adjustable retention and noise insulation are carried over from the previous model. On the safety front, the updated pick-up trucks offer cross car front beam, chassis and cabin with crumple zones, brake override system, collapsible steering column, ventilated front disc brake with twin pot caliper, hydraulic brake with large booster and LSPV, rear parking assist system, ELR seat belts, warning lights and buzzers and larger tubeless tyres.
