Hyundai Motors India has introduced the updated version of its flagship SUV – Tucson – on the first day of the Auto Expo 2020. The mid-cycle update for the SUV has been brought up with subtle design tweaks along with the BS6-compliant engines.

  • The Tucson facelift gets the brand’s BlueLink connected car technology.
  • The SUV has received minor design changes, especially at the front end.
  • The updated Tucson is available with BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines.
  • The new model will be slightly more expensive than the old one.

The front fascia of the new Tucson looks refreshing, thanks to its new cascading trapezoidal grille, sharply-designed LED headlamps with integrated L-shaped LED DRLs (daytime running lights) and slightly tweaked bumper. The SUV also gets newly-designed alloy wheels, revised taillamp cluster and new reflectors on the tailgate.

Minor changes have also been made inside the cabin. The 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift gets a new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an updated interface. The instrument console has also been revised. Similar to the new Elantra, the Tucson facelift is equipped with Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity suite. On safety front, the 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift offers adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and forward collision-avoidance assist. The dual airbags, speed sensing door locks and ABS with EBD are standard across the range. The top-end trim is exclusively offered with hill assist and downhill brake assist, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control and multiple airbags.

The 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift continues to come with the same engine setup, albeit in BS6 form. The 2.0L naturally-aspirated petrol motor delivers power worth 155bhp and 192Nm of torque. The 2.0L turbo diesel motor makes 182bhp with 400Nm. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox option. The AWD (all-wheel-drive) system is offered only on the diesel model.
