2020 Hyundai Tucson Facelift India Launch Tomorrow

The long-awaited 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift will finally be launched in the Indian market tomorrow. The SUV was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. It was scheduled to be launched in April; however, launch has been delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic. The Tucson facelift will rival the likes of the Skoda Karoq, Jeep Compass, Honda CR-V and the upcoming Citroen C5 AirCross.

The mid-life facelift of the Hyundai Tucson facelift comes with revised exterior and upgraded interior. Hyundai dealers have already started taking pre-bookings for the SUV at a token amount of Rs 25,000. It will be offered in 3 trim levels – GL 2WD, GLS 2WD and GLS 4WD (Diesel Only).

The 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift will be powered by BS6 compliant 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The gasoline engine is capable of producing 151bhp of power and 192Nm of torque, while the oil burner is good for 184bhp and 400Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. Reports suggest that Hyundai could also offer an 8-speed automatic gearbox with the Tucson facelift. The top-spec diesel version will also receive 4-wheel-drive system. The SUV offers 3 driving modes – Eco, Comfort and Sport.

In terms of styling changes, the Tucson facelift gets new LED headlamps, new bumpers, revised tail-gate, refreshed LED tail-lamps and newly styled alloys. Inside the cabin, the SUV will get a revised touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. The SUV will also receive 360 degree camera, wireless charger, 10-way electrically adjustable driver seat and 8-way electrically adjustable co-driver seat, and 360 degree camera. The dynamic stability control will come with the top-end model, while the cornering lamps, electric parking brake and powered tail-gate will be standard. The SUV also gets downhill brake control, hill control assist, electronic stability control and others.

The upcoming Hyundai Tucson facelift will also receive new BlueLink connected car technology, which offers features like Remote Engine Start/Stop, Remote climate control, door lock/unlock remotely, and several location based services. It could also receive voice-based functions with a wake word – Hello BlueLink. This offers features like voice assist dialing, radio and media control, navigation and others.
