2020 Hyundai ix25 (Creta) To Launch First In China In August

The next-gen Hyundai ix25 is reportedly to go on sale in the Chinese market in August 2019

It is no secret that Hyundai is working on the next-generation Creta SUV, which was previewed as the next-gen Hyundai ix25 at the Auto Shanghai 2019 in April. A new media report claims that the next-gen ix25 compact SUV will go on sale in the Chinese market in August 2019.

The India-spec 2020 Hyundai Creta will be designed around the new-gen ix25 compact SUV. The SUV is expected to make India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo, while launch could take place before April 2020. It will be the brand’s second connected SUV after the Venue. The SUV will be benefitted with Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity solution and will source the e-SIM technology from the Venue.

The 2020 Hyundai ix25 comes with evolutionary design changes, featuring the brand’s new global design philosophy. It features more rounded face with cascading grille with chrome surround, split-headlamp setup and dual-tone bumper with faux skid plate and silver finish around the narrow air-dam. Going by the images, it is visible that the 2020 Hyundai ix25 compact SUV gets Tesla-inspired interior. It features a clutter free dashboard with central console dominated by a large floating touchscreen with no physical buttons except for the start-stop button. The Chinese-spec iX25 is longer and wider than the outgoing model. It is 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width, 1620mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2610mm. The new model is 30mm longer, 10mm wider and 45mm shorter than the outgoing model, while the wheelbase has been increased by 20mm.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta will be based on the new Kia Seltos platform, which will meet the upcoming crash test norms. The SUV will be powered by BSVI compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. Similar to the Seltos, the Creta could also receive the performance oriented version.
