The third-generation Hyundai i20 is ready to hit showrooms in the first week of November, 2020. Ahead of its official launch, the premium hatchback has started arriving at select dealerships. The latest spy pictures confirm that the first batch of the 2020 Hyundai i20 has been dispatched to some dealers.
You can also checkout the updated interior of the hatchback. It receives a sunroof and a larger touchscreen infotainment system that will support both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The higher trim might be exclusively offered with a configurable colour TFT instrument panel.
The new i20 gets Creta-inspired multi-function steering wheel along with features such as a compact centre console with toggle switches, low mounted AC vents, wireless charging and Bose premium sound system with 7/8-speakers and a sub-woofer. Similar to the Venue and Creta, the new Hyundai i20 will come with Hyundai BlueLink car connected technology offering 33 features out of which 10 exclusively India-specific. In terms of design and styling, the 2020 Hyundai i20 will witness comprehensive changes. There will be a larger all-black cascading grille flanked by full LED headlamps and LED DRLs (daytime running lights). The aggressive front bumper with sharp lines and round fog lamps, diamond cut alloy wheels, sharp ORVMs, a shark fin antenna and newly-designed LED taillamps.
Hyundai will offer the new-generation i20 hatchback with three new engines including 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo-petrol and 1.5L diesel. While the 1.2L naturally aspirated motor delivers power worth 82bhp, the turbo-petrol unit makes 99bhp. The oil burner pushes out a peak power of 99bhp. The 2020 Hyundai i20 can be had with five different gearboxes – a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque convertor automatic, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission). One must note that the gearbox options will vary variant-wise.
