2020 Hyundai Elite i20 will be wider than the existing model.
Hyundai India recently marked its entry in the subcompact SUV space with the all-new Venue. The South Korean carmaker has already confirmed that it will bring in its first electric vehicle – Kona SUV – in July, 2019. Besides this, the company is ready to give a generation change to its three popular models – Hyundai Grand i10, Hyundai Elite i20 and Hyundai Creta. Recently, the new 2020 Hyundai i20 hatchback was caught on camera during its test rounds in the country.
The spy pictures reveal that the next-gen model might see dimensional changes along with significant cosmetic upgrades. Interior quality levels might also be classed up. Some of its comfort and connectivity features could be carried over from the newly-launched Hyundai Venue. Under the hood, the new 2020 Hyundai i20 will receive a new 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine that also does duty in the Venue. The carmaker might also de-tuned powertrain of the global-spec i20. The BS6-ready 1.2L petrol and 1.4L diesel engines are also likely to be on offer.

New 2020 Hyundai i20 Price In India
Hyundai will make comprehensive changes to the 2020 Elite i20 including revised styling, more premium and spacious interior and new powertrains. With all these upgrades, the hatchback will certainly witness a price hike. While the existing model comes in the price range of Rs 5.50 lakh – Rs 9.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the new-generation version is estimated to cost between Rs 6 lakh – Rs 10.50 lakh. New 2020 Hyundai i20 Specifications
As mentioned above, Hyundai will use the new 1.0L, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine for the new Elite i20. It’s the same motor that powers the Venue subcompact SUV. This gasoline unit produces a peak power of 118bhp with 172Nm of torque. The existing 1.2L petrol and 1.4L diesel engines will meet to the new BS6 emission norms. While the petrol motor makes power worth 81.8bhp with 114.7Nm of torque, the oil burner delivers 88.7bhp with 219Nm of torque. Rumour also has it that the new 2020 Hyundai Elite i20 might get the de-tuned version of the global-spec i20’s engine. Transmission choices will include both manual and automatic.

Design and feature details of the new 2020 Hyundai Elite i20 are still under the wraps. Though, the new spy images confirm that the hatchback will see minor dimensional changes. The overall width of the vehicle will be increased, while its length and height are likely to remain unchanged. It will also ensure more cabin space for occupants. All variants of the new 2020 Hyundai Elite i20 will continue to offer dual airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system), parking assist (reverse parking sensors and rear camera with display on AVN), central locking, smart pedal, Impact sensing auto door unlock, speed sensing auto door lock, height adjustable seat belt and seat belt pretnesioners as standard safety features.
