2020 Hyundai i20 Final Model Spotted – Key Changes

The new-generation Hyundai i20 premium hatchback was recently caught on camera without any camouflage for the first time. The spy picture reveals the rear section of the vehicle featuring sharply designed LED taillamps connected with a lightbar. Just above the lightbar, you will notice the gloss black strip giving it sporty looks. It will also sport dual-tone bumper, new tailgate mounted spoiler and fake rear diffuser.

The front end of the hatchback will be revised more comprehensively. Upfront, the 2020 Hyundai i20 carries a single-piece cascading grille, triangular air dams and new LED headlamps. The side profile will be enhanced by 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, new window line and a contrasting roof.

The all-new i20 will also witness dimensional changes. Compared to the current generation, the new one will be 5mm longer, 30mm wider and 24mm shorter. Inside, the 2020 Hyundai i20 will get the brand’s BlueLink connected car technology. The hatchback will also come with a 10.25-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, single air-con vent unit, a large digital instrument console, a Bose premium audio system, wireless smartphone charger, ambient lighting and more. On the safety front, the hatchback will have 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESP), ISOFIX seat anchors, traction control system and more.

In India, the new-generation i20 will be made available with three engine options – a 99bhp, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol, a 83bhp, 1.2-litre Kappa petrol and a 99bhp, 1.5-litre diesel. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit. The hatchback’s Europe-spec version will get a 48V mild hybrid system with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
