2020 Hyundai ix25 Creta spied

Hyundai will launch the all-new Creta SUV in the Indian market next year. The new model is expected to be unveiled at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. Like the current model, the next-gen Hyundai Creta is likely to share design cues with the new-gen ix25 that was recently unveiled in China. The Chinese version of the SUV has been spotted testing again, revealing new design details.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta will be based on the modified FWD monocoque platform, which also underpins the Kia Seltos. The new SUV is expected to be offered in 5-seat and 7-seat configuration. While the 5-seater Creta will arrive in early 2020, the 7-seater version could be launched at a later date. The spy images reveal that the next ix25 shares design cues from the bigger Hyundai SUVs including Palisade and the Santa Fe.

It features more rounded profile, featuring new prominent cascade grille, dual-headlamp setup and dual-tone bumper. The car gets vertically stacked tail-lights and new bumper. It is 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width, 1620mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2610mm. The new model is 30mm longer, 10mm wider and 45mm shorter than the outgoing model, while the wheelbase has been increased by 20mm.

The cabin features clutter free dashboard, which is dominated by a floating touchscreen infotainment system with no physical buttons. The ix25 showcased earlier this year had the black-and-beige interior scheme. In terms of features, the new model is expected to receive the Hyundai’s Blue Link connectivity solution, which was recently introduced in the new Venue compact SUV.

The second generation Hyundai Creta will be equipped with a BSVI compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options. These engines will come as a replacement for the existing 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel and 1.6-litre petrol engines. The new 1.5-litre engines will soon debut in the Kia Seltos and will also power the Verna facelift.
