The second generation Hyundai Creta will come equipped with the new BlueLink connectivity solution

The second generation Hyundai Creta will make India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. It was recently showcased as the 2nd generation iX25 in China. The SUV is expected to be launched before March 2020. A new media report claims that the new Hyundai Creta will be the brand’s second connected SUV after the Venue. The SUV will be equipped with Hyundai’s Blue Link connectivity solution. It will source the e-SIM technology from the Venue.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta will receive major design changes and all-new interior. Adding to it, the new model will meet the upcoming crash test and the new emission norms under the Bharat Stage 6 regime. The new Creta will receive the new BS6 compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine. These engines will also power the Kia Seltos and the Verna facelift.

The next-gen Creta will be offered in 5- and 7-seat layout. While the 5-seater model will be launched in 2020, the 7-seater model could arrive on a later stage. The 7-seater version will be longer than the Chinese-spec model. Adding to it, the 7-seat model will be positioned against the likes of the Mahindra XUV500 and others in its category.

The new model will receive massive changes inside the cabin. It is expected to share the interior with the Chinese spec iX25, which is inspired by the Tesla. The new model comes with black-and-beige interior scheme and the clean and clutter free dashboard. The centre console is dominated by a large touchscreen infotainment system with no physical buttons, except for the engine start/stop unit.

The Chinese-spec iX25 is longer and wider than the outgoing model. It is 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width, 1620mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2610mm. The new model is 30mm longer, 10mm wider and 45mm shorter than the outgoing model, while the wheelbase has been increased by 20mm. The design of the SUV will be inspired by the bigger Hyundai SUVs including Santa Fe and Palisade. It comes with rounded front profile, featuring signature hexagonal cascading grille with piano black finish and chrome enhancement, two-tier headlamp setup with LED DRLs. Other changes will include new LED tail-lights, diamond cut alloys, sloping roof, etc.
