2020 Hyundai Creta And Kia Seltos – Top 5 Similarities
The second-generation Hyundai Creta is ready to make its India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo that will be held from 7th to 12th in Greater Noida. 1. Platform/Chassis
The Kia Seltos has been designed on an all-new monocoque, front-wheel drive platform that’s compatible for 7-seats configuration. The 2020 Hyundai Creta will underpin the same architecture. Dimensionally, the new Creta will be 30mm longer and 10mm wider than the existing model. It will measure 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width and 1622mm in height with a wheelbase of 2610mm. With a longer wheelbase, the Creta’s new model will ensure more cabin space. Though, it will be slightly smaller than the Kia Seltos.
2. Engines
Besides sharing platform, the 2020 Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos will share the powertrains. The latter one comes with three engines (two petrol and one diesel) that meet the BS6 emission norms. The new Creta will get the same 1.5L and 1.4L turbocharged petrol motors generating a maximum power of 115bhp with 144Nm and 140bhp with 242Nm respectively. 3. Transmission Options
The Kia Seltos is available with four transmission options – a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque convertor, a 7-speed DCT and a CVT. The dual-clutch transmission and CVT automatic gearbox are reserved for the 1.4L petrol and 1.5L petrol powered variants respectively. The 6-speed torque convertor is exclusively offered on the 1.5L diesel trims, while a 6-speed manual unit comes as standard. The 2020 Hyundai Creta will be made available with the same engine and transmission combinations.
4. Connectivity Features
The 2020 Hyundai Creta will get the brand’s new 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that will be paired up with Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car app and telematic solution. Similar to the Venue, it will have an embedded sim car or eSIM for accessing all data. Its infotainment system will also support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with a voice command enabled virtual assistant. 5. Interior Design
Some of the interior changes that will be made to the 2020 Hyundai Creta will be inspired by the Kia Seltos. The newly-designed dashboard with a large binnacle with a landscape-oriented touchscreen and instrument cluster looks similar to the Seltos. Features such as new air con controls and slimmer air con vents placed below the centre console are also carried over from the Seltos.
