2020 Honda Shine 125 Launched – More Mileage, More Features
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) today introduced the new-generation BS6-compliant Shine 125 commuter motorcycle in the country. Prices of the new model start from Rs 67,857 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2020 Honda Shine BS6 has been offered in two variants – Drum and Disc – and four colour options – Rebel Red Metallic, Geny Grey Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic and Black. The company is also offering a special 6 year warranty package with on the updated Shine. It includes a standard warranty of 3 years and an optional 3 years extended warranty. The commuter motorcycle has witnessed multiple design and feature upgrades along with a few mechanical tweaks.
One of the major changes comes in the form of the BS6-compliant 125cc HET engine boosted with eSP (enhanced smart power) technology. It’s a fuel injected motor with an automatic choke system that’s claimed to improve its mileage by 14% and reduce its emission level. The engine delivers a peak power of 10.6bhp and 10.6Nm of torque. The updated Shine 125 also gets ACG starter motor ensuring “quick, silent, jolt-free start”. The ground clearance and wheelbase of the 2020 Honda Shine 125 have been increased by 5mm and 19mm respectively. In fact, the commuter gets 27mm longer seat. The bike also comes with the new DC headlamp, integrated headlamp beam and passing switch, black alloy wheels, new taillamps and newly-designed meter.
The chrome treatment on the front visor, side cover and muffler cover further enhance its new look. The bikemaker says that the 2020 Honda Shine 125 has been assembled with rear HET tyre (low rolling resistance tyre) that reduces energy loss while maintaining optimum grip. It also gets 5 step adjustable rear suspension and Combi brake system (CBS) with equalizer.
