2020 Honda Jazz BS6 to be Launched in May 2020
Honda Cars India is gearing up for the launch of 3 cars in the country in the next couple of months. The company will launch the new-gen City sedan, WR-V facelift and the upgraded 2020 Honda Jazz hatchback. All these models are expected to be launched in May 2020. These models were planned to launch in March or April; however, the launch has been pushed to undisclosed dates due to nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus.
Honda has already introduced the new-gen Jazz hatchback in the International markets. Instead of the new model, India will receive the upgraded version of the current-gen Jazz hatchback. The upcoming 2020 Honda Jazz BS6 model will receive cleaner petrol and diesel engines along with cosmetic design changes. The details about the design changes are still under the wraps. There will be some changes inside the cabin as well. It will receive the updated 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the navigation. The hatchback will receive new upholstery for seats. More details will be revealed ahead of its launch timeline. The 2020 Honda Jazz will be offered with BSVI compliant versions of the existing engines – a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. While the former is capable of producing 89bhp and 110Nm of torque, the oil burner is good for 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels will come as standard, while a CVT automatic unit will be offered as optional.
By making some changes to styling and mechanics of the Jazz, Honda hopes to increase its market share. The hatchback will directly rival the likes of the Honda Jazz, Maruti Baleno and the Hyundai i20. The company will also launch the new-gen City sedan, which will receive all-new design, bigger dimensions and plush interior.
