Japanese automaker, Honda has revealed the 2020 Civic hatchback. The new model comes with updated exterior styling, new interior trim and a revised Sport trim that adds Smart Start and Entry and an upgraded Display Audio system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. Adding to it, the top-spec Sport Touring variant is now available with a 6-speed manual gearbox for the first time.

In terms of exterior changes, the 2020 Honda Civic Hatchback gets revised fog lamp housings, which now feature a body-colour crossbar. The Honda-signature “wing” grille crossbar is also updated, and the headlights now feature a sporty blackout treatment. At the back, the hatchback gets new body-colour crossbar on the lower bumper. All variants feature new alloys in either dark gray or black shade. Sport Touring trims are benefitted with improved LED headlamps with wider and longer light beams.

Inside the cabin, the 2020 Honda Civic hatchback gets new dash trims. The Sport trims feature a new geometrical pattern, LX and EX a new painted pattern, and EX-L and Sport Touring an exclusive brushed black treatment. The EX trim also adds an 8-way power driver’s seat in place of manual adjustments, plus a new leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

The Sport Touring trims gets HomeLink and a 6-speed manual gearbox mated to the standard 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. The Civic hatchback also receives additional sound insulation in the floor, trunk, and front and rear fenders.

The 2020 Honda Civic Hatchback comes equipped with Honda Sensing suit of safety and driver-assistive systems as standard on all trims. It comes with an updated display audio system on some variants, while the Sport Touring gets physical buttons and volume knob, improved voice recognition and Bluetooh, a USB sub-cord, upgraded steering wheel controls for simplified operation, and physical buttons for fan speed on models with dual-zone climate control. Other changes included a new center console cup holder and an updated electronic parking brake with an indicator light.

The top-spec Sport and Sport Touring trims get an updated 7-inch touchscreen display audio system with eight speakers and smartphone connectivity. Sport trims equipped with the CVT also come with remote start for the first time.
