A few days back, the 2020 Honda City specifications have leaked on the web. Now, a media report claims that the sedan’s all-new model will make its world debut on 25th November, 2019 in Thailand. The new City has been caught on camera multiple times during its test rounds in the country as well as on the foreign land. While Thailand will be the first market to receive the fifth-generation City, its India launch will happen sometime next year.
In India, the 2020 Honda City will be made available with the 1.5L diesel engine that will be upgraded to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms. In its BS4 form, the oil burner pushes out a peak power of 100bhp and 200Nm of torque. The BS6-compliant version of the motor will have better refinement levels.
For the first time, the 2020 Honda City will be offered with the CVT automatic gearbox along with the standard 6-speed manual transmission. In Thailand, the sedan will get a new 120bhp, 1.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 1.5L petrol engine with Honda’s new compact e:HEV mild hybrid technology. The 2020 Honda City will share some of its interior bits with the new Jazz including a newly-designed multi-functional steering wheel with mounted controls, all-digital instrument console, a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and more.
