The new-generation Honda City was recently launched in Thailand at a starting price of 579,500 baht. The sedan’s all-new model is ready to hit Indian shores by mid 2020. Compared to its predecessor, the 2020 Honda City is 100mm longer and 53mm wider. Its overall length and width stand at 4553mm and 1748mm respectively.

In fact, the 2020 Honda City will be longer and wider than its arch rivals – Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. While the Verna is 4440mm long and 1729mm wide, the Ciaz measures 4490mm in length and 1730mm in width.

The Thailand-spec 2020 Honda City comes with a new 1.0L i-VTEC turbo petrol engine pushing out 122bhp and 173Nm. For performing transmission duties, it gets a CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. In India, the all-new Honda City will be made available with the BS6-compliant 1.5L i-VTEC and 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engines. Transmission choices might include a 6-speed and a CVT automatic unit. With the generation change, the Honda City might receive a 1.5L petrol engine with Honda’s 2 motor e:HEV mild hybrid technology.
