The much-anticipated 2020 Audi RS7 Sportback has finally been launched in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 1.94 crore (ex-showroom, Pan India). The new model joins the existing BS6 Audi Line-up, which comprises of A6, A8L and Q8. The new RS7 Sportback directly rivals the BMW M5 Competition and the Mercedes-AMG E63 S.
Powering the Audi RS7 Sportback is a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 592bhp and a peak torque of 880Nm. Power will be transmitted to all four wheels through Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 3.6 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.
With Dynamic Package, the top speed increases up to 280kmph. On the other hand, the Dynamic Plus package pushes the top speed to 305kmph. The Sportback also comes with cylinder-deactivation technology and an adaptive air suspension. Also See – Audi Q2 India Launch in September 2020
The Audi RS7 Sportback is the performance oriented version of the second generation A7 four-door coupe. In terms of styling, the Sportback gets a massive blacked-out single-frame front grille with honeycomb finish, Matrix adaptive LED headlamps and larger air-dams. Adding to it, the SUV gets a prominent rear diffuser with twin oval-shaped exhausts. The sports car rides on massive 21-inch wheels. It also gets 22-inchers as an optional. There is an LED light bar that connects the LED tail-lights. It gets an electronically-operated spoiler that pops up at speeds over 100kmph.
Inside the cabin, the 2020 Audi RS7 Sportback gets a dual-touchscreen setup along with VW Group’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument console. Several RS-inspired elements are also on offer, which includes flat-bottom steering wheel, paddle shifters, Alcantara upholstery and aluminum pedals.
