The 2019 Yamaha R3 is based on Yamaha’s latest ‘R’ series design philosophy.

Yamaha Motorcycles has revealed the updated model of its entry-level sports bike – R3 – in Jakarta, Indonesia. The new 2019 Yamaha R3 facelift will also make its way to India by the end of next year. Design and styling of the new 2019 Yamaha R3 is inspired by the Yamaha M1, and it looks sharper and sportier than the outgoing model. Based on Yamaha’s latest ‘R’ series design philosophy, the 2019 model year of the motorcycle carries new body graphics with improved ergonomics.

Face of the sports bike has aggressive appeal. It has a new panel with twin LED headlamps with an integrated functional air intake. The front fairing has also been revised. For enhancing its riding experience, the handlebar position has been reduced by 22mm. The bike also gets a fully digital instrument panel with several other new performance-oriented technologies. The new 2019 Yamaha R3 comes in a choice of two colour schemes Yamaha Blue and Power Black.

2019 Yamaha R3 Blue

Power for the 2019 Yamaha R3 comes from a 32cc, liquid-cooled, in-line twin-cylinder DOHC engine boosted with fuel injection technology. Similar to the current model, the motor churns out a peak power of 41.4bhp (42PS) at 10,750rpm and 29.6Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. The bike is claimed deliver a maximum speed of 8kmph, thanks to its new windscreen design, MotoGP race bike-inspired new fairing, and improved aerodynamics. Braking system of the bike comprise of 298mm disc brake upfront and 220mm disc brake at the rear. The ABS (anti-lock braking system) comes as optional offering. The bike rides on 10-spoke cast aluminium wheels with new Dunlop radial tyres. For damping duties, the new 2019 Yamaha R3 gets all-new 37 mm KYB inverted forks and a preload-adjustable KYB monoshock at the front and rear axles respectively.
