2019 Volkswagen T-Cross First Review Comes Out

The Volkswagen T-Cross compact SUV is claimed to have the most practical and spacious cabin in its category, also offering largest boot in the segment

German premium automaker, Volkswagen will launch the new T-Cross compact SUV in early 2019 in foreign markets. Before its official unveiling in the second half of this year, pre-production prototypes of the new VW T-Cross were reviewed by international media. Volkswagen claims that the T-Cross will come with most practical and spacious cabin, offering largest boot space in its category. The mini SUV gets a sliding rear seat that can be adjusted by up to 15cm. This model offers a luggage space of 385-litres, which can be further extended up to 455-litres by sliding the rear seats to 15cm. The 2019 Volkswagen T-Cross is based on the flexible MQB AO platform that also underpins the Polo. Not just platform, this mini SUV shares technical and comfort features from the Polo. According to AutoCar, the mini SUV comes with a youthful look that we have already seen on the T-ROC. The rear seems largely similar to the T-ROC, featuring similar LED lighting and a reflector bar across the middle.

The European-spec Volkswagen T-Cross is 4.10 meter in length; however, the Chinese market will receive a longer version of the SUV. The mini SUV will be offered with two petrol engines – 1.0-litre TSI offers two states of tunes – 95bhp and 115bhp, and 150bhp, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol. Diesel variant will be powered by a 1.6-litre TDI unit that produces 115bhp. Only front-wheel-drive model will be on offer. The reviews claim that the VW T-Cross compact SUV feels like the VW Polo. The 2019 VW T-Cross compact SUV comes equipped with an optional digital cockpit, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and Active Info Display. It features four USB ports, wireless charging, 300 watt beats sound system with subwoofer, etc. The mini SUV also gets several driver assistance features like front assist ambient traffic monitoring system, lane assist lane departure warning system, etc. The mini SUV will come with 3 wheel sizes – 16, 17 and 18.
