The Swedish luxury car manufacturer, Volvo is working on the new-generation S60 sedan and has already begun it testing in Norway. While the first teaser picture (camouflaged) was dropped last week, now a clearer image (undisguised) has emerged on the web revealing side and rear design details of the car. While the global launch of the vehicle will take place this year, it will hit Indian shores sometime next year. In the Indian market, the 2019 Volvo S60 will continue to take on the German trios – Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3-Series. The 2019 Volvo S60 sedan also shares its platform – SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) with the V60. As of now, the design and interior details of the sedan are scanty. Though, the spy picture reveals that it will feature gloss black wheel cap and C-shaped LED taillamps. The windows trim and exhaust tip get lots of chrome treatment. At the front fascia, the Thor’s Hammer-styled LED daytime running lights (DRLs), wraparound headlamps, a wide grille and bumper will remain unchanged. Though, the lip will be more pronounced. Interior of the sedan could be classed up with new soft touch materials. It might also get Volvo touchscreen infotainment system.
Engine setup of the Volvo S60 will include both petrol and diesel units. Power for the petrol model will come from a 2.0-litre engine that will be good for 156bhp, and the diesel iteration will get a 240bhp motor.
