2019 Volkswagen Polo & Vento Facelifts Launched In India
2019 Volkswagen Polo hatchback and Vento sedan facelifts have been launched in India. While the former has been priced from Rs 5.82 lakh to Rs 9.31 lakh, the latter comes in the price range of Rs 8.76 lakh – Rs 14.49 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, India. The facelifted Volkswagen Polo and Vento also get a GT Line variant priced at Rs 13.17 lakh and Rs 14.49 lakh respectively. The GT Line trim features glossy black decals and exterior elements such as a honeycomb mesh grille, front bumper and taillamps.
The newly-designed alloy wheels with gunmetal finish are exclusively offered on the high-spec variants. The 2019 Volkswagen Polo facelift also gets blacked out headlamps, black side skirt running below the doors, new black finished roof spoiler and newly-designed taillamps with 3D effect. The updated Vento, on the other hand, features new black mesh grille, revised LED headlamps, new airdam, updated bumpers, horizontal fog lamps with new black housing and a new pair of multi-spoke alloy wheels. Interior layout of both models remains unchanged. Though, the 2019 Volkswagen Vento and Polo gets Volkswagen Connect a dongle based feature enabling user to connect his/her smartphone. This connectivity suite is standard from Highline trim and provides information such as trip tracking, location sharing, driver behaviour and statistic tracking, fuel cost monitoring and more. All variants of the 2019 Volkswagen Polo and Vento facelifts get rear parking sensors, a seat-belt reminder system and a speed alert system. Both models continue to offer dual airbags and ABS (anti-lock braking system) as standard.
No changes have been made to the engines. The 2019 Volkswagen Polo GT continues to feature the 1.2L, 4-cylinder TSI turbo petrol and 1.5L TDI diesel motors generating 104bhp with 175Nm and 108bhp with 250Nm respectively. The standard Polo derives its power from a 1.0L MPI petrol motor pushing out a peak power of 75bhp and 95Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel engine delivers a maximum power of 89bhp and 230Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission comes as standard.
Under the hood, the 2019 Volkswagen Vento facelift houses the same 1.2L, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine churning out power worth 105bhp and 175Nm of peak torque. The 1.6L, 4-cylinder petrol and 1.5L 4-cylinder diesel motors generate 103bhp with 153Nm and 108bhp with 250Nm respectively.
