Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the first proud owner of the TVS Apache RR 310 with ‘Race Tuned (RT) Slipper Clutch’.
TVS Motor Company has launched the updated TVS Apache RR 310 in the Indian market at Rs 2.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The updated version comes with minor cosmetic and mechanical upgrades, which makes it Rs 3,000 expensive over the previous model (was priced at Rs 2.24 lakh). Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the first proud owner of the TVS Apache RR 310 with ‘Race Tuned (RT) Slipper Clutch’.
The biggest update in the 2019 TVS Apache RR 310 is the addition of a slipper clutch. Called a Race Tuned Slipper Clutch, the new features provides swift gear shifting with low hand fatigue and maintains vehicle stability at high speed during downshifts especially in corners. The new variant also gets minor styling upgrades including a new colour – Phantom Black.
The slipper clutch function of the motorcycle allows rapid downshifts preventing wheel hop and chain wip. The system is also engineered with an Assist Function wherein the clutch plates lock tightly increasing the clutch engagement force thus resulting in reduced clutch effort. Existing TVS Apache RR 310 customers can also fit the Race Tuned Slipper Clutch, which is now available as TVS Racing accessory.
The company has recently updated the Apache RR 310 to fix issues related to the chain roller problem, reduce vibrations and increase the top speed. Powering the 2019 Apache RR 310 is a reverse inclines, 312.2cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this powertrain is capable of producing 34bhp of power and 27.3Nm of torque.
