The 2019 Toyota Innova Crysta comes with feature upgrades and new interior scheme

Toyota has introduced the updated versions of the Innova Crysta and the Fortuner SUV in the Indian market. The 2019 Toyota Innova Crysta hasn’t received major upgrades in the form of styling or mechanics. The changes are limited to feature upgrade and new interior colour scheme. The Innova Crysta was launched in May 2016 and is now 3 years old in the market. The MPV has been the undisputed leader in the MPV segment and is now for the comfortable cabin, low maintenance and powerful performance.

The 2019 Toyota Innova Crysta comes with new features like perforated leather seats, heat rejection glass and USB fast charging port. However, these features are offered in the diesel variant only. The Crysta Touring sport will also be upgraded with Heat Rejection Glass and USB Fast Charging Port. The new model is available with the existing engine setup – 2.4-litre diesel, 2.8-litre diesel and 2.7-litre petrol. Besides new Innova & Fortuner, Toyota will launch the re-badged Baleno and Vitara Brezza in India in India. While the Toyota’s premium hatch will go on sale in second half of 2019, the Vitara Brezza based SUV is expected to arrive in 2021. The company will also launch the re-badged Ciaz and Ertiga in India.

2019 Toyota Innova Crysta Price

Toyota hasn’t made any changes to the pricing of the new Innova Crysta. The MPV is available in the price range of Rs 14.93 lakh to Rs 22.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). 2019 Toyota Innova Crysta Specifications

Mechanically, the Crysta facelift remains unchanged. However, the engines will be tweaked to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms in 2020. Similar to the previous model, the facelift is available in three engine options including one petrol and two diesel units. Diesel powered Innova will come with a 2.4-litre GD VNT inter-cooler and a 2.8-litre GD oil burner. While the former is good for 146.9bhp of power and 343Nm torque, the 2.8-litre unit puts out maximum power of 174.5bhp with 360Nm torque. The petrol version will be powered by a 2.7-litre four-cylinder DOHC dual VVT-i petrol engine producing 166bhp and 245Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

2019 Toyota Innova Crysta Mileage

The facelift retains the same engine specifications, which means the mileage figure remains the same as well. The diesel model is claimed to return around 15kmpl.

2019 Toyota Innova Crysta Dimensions

In terms of dimensions, the Innova model measures 4,735mm in length, 1,830mm in width and 1,795mm in height. It sits on a 2,750mm long wheelbase and equips 215/55 R17 sized tyres at front and rear. The ground clearance is around 190mm, which makes it compatible with the Indian roads.

The updated Innova Crysta hasn’t received any significant changes in terms of styling. The MPG entry-level and mid-level variants ride on 16-inch alloy wheels shod with 205/65 R16 tyres, while the top-of-the-line Z trim comes fitted with 17-inch alloys and 215/55 R17 tyres. The MPV gets the dual-slat chrome grille followed by the wide air-dams cascading on the bumper. Other design highlights include swept-back headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, pronounced wheel arches, LED tail-lamps, multi-layered bootlid, chrome around licence plate enclosure and roof-integrated spoiler.

The cabin of the 2019 Toyota Innova Crysta is similar to the previous model, though it receives subtle upgrades and new interior scheme as optional. The MPV gets optional new Ivory leather upholstery, perforated leather seats, embossed ‘Crysta’ insignia, heat rejection glass, USB fast charging port, etc. The Touring Sport variant has also been upgraded with heat rejection glass and USB fast charging port.
