Toyota Fortuner India launch delay

With updated interiors, the 2019 Toyota Fortuner SUV is likely to be launched on April 8, 2019

Toyota is gearing up to give a minor makeover to its two popular cars – the Fortuner and Innova Crysta. The new mildly updated models are likely to be launched in the country on April 8, 2019. The SUV will come with updated cabin and new features. The SUV will soon turn 3 years old in our market and is facing tough competition from the likes of Mahindra Alturas G4 and the Toyota Fortuner.

In terms of updates, the 2019 Toyota Fortuner will receive new perforated seats, heat rejection glass and updated audio system with improved speakers. The company will also introduce a new Chamois interior colour scheme for the top-spec 4WD MT and AT variants. The dark brown shade will continue to be on offer. This new shade will come as an optional in the lower-spec 2WD variants. These upgrades will be limited to the diesel powered Fortuner.

The 2019 Toyota Fortuner won’t receive any changes in terms of mechanics and will continue with the existing set of engines. The diesel version is powered by a 2.8-litre turbocharged unit that produces 174.5bhp and 450Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic unit. The gasoline version will receive a new 2.7-litre, 4-cylinder unit that is good for 163.7bhp and 245Nm of torque. This engine is paired to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift & shiftlock. Also See – Toyota Fortuner Vs Ford Endeavour
