2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 – What We Know So Far
The all-new 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 is most likely to be launched on May 20
Suzuki will launch the much-awaited Gixxer SF 250 fully faired motorcycle on May 20, 2019. A brochure with the image of the motorcycle along with the technical details has already been leaked out on the internet. Interestingly, the company is also working on the new-generation Gixxer SF 150. A new image of the updated Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 has been leaked on the internet. The new SF 150 looks largely identical to the bigger sibling. It is expected that the company could unveil the new motorcycle at the SF 250 launch event.
Sharper Styling – the leaked image of the new Gixxer SF 150 reveals aggressive styling than the outgoing model. It features aggressively styled new headlight and sharper fairing, which seems inspired from the bigger Suzuki motorcycles. It is expected that the headlight unit will be all-LED.
Split seat – Instead of the single piece seat on the existing model, the upcoming Gixxer SF 150 will get the split seat. It will also get split grab rail for the pillion seat. Same Mechanics – The new Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 will be powered by the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that powers the existing bike. Paired to a 5-speed gearbox, this engine is capable of producing 14.8bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. Single-channel ABS, suspension system and brakes are likely to be sourced from the current model as well.
BS6 or BS4 – it is quite early to comment whether the new motorcycle will get the BS6 compliant engine. Media reports claim that the Gixxer SF 250 will get the BS6 engine from the word go. We believe that the new Gixxer SF 150 could also receive the BSVI compliant engine.
Price Hike – the new Gixxer SF 150 will receive new features, which will make it slightly expensive over the existing model. The Gixxer SF ABS and SP ABS are priced at Rs 97,524 and Rs 1.01 lakh respectively. We believe that the new model could receive a price hike of up to Rs 5,000.
