First pictures of the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 250 have been leaked online. The updated version of the motorcycle receives new body graphics along with dual tone colour scheme. The newly-designed LED headlamp looks different than the Gixxer SF 250. Other key features include stylish alloy wheels, a muscular fuel tank, wider tryes, an engine bash plate and engine shroud. Design bits such as exhaust and seats are carried over from the existing model. The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 250 will get a dual-tone shade including a Black and Grey combination.
Power comes from a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that also does duty in the Gixxer SF 250. This motor is boosted with Suzuki’s oil cooling system. It pushes out a maximum power of 26.1bhp at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Mated with a 6-speed gearbox, the bike offers a claimed fuel economy of around 38.5kmpl. The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 250 derives its braking power from the front and rear Bybre disc brakes combined with dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). In terms of performance, the Gixxer 250 is slightly better than the Gixxer SF250, thanks to its lesser kerb weight.
Official launch of the new Gixxer 250 is likely to happen in coming months. With Yamaha FZ250 and KTM 250 Duke in its sight, it’s estimated to be priced around Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
