Skoda claims that the 2019 Superb facelift will be equipped with “numerous features from higher-tier segments”. The sedan is likely to receive a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The flagship model will also receive new autonomous technology, which will be sourced from bigger Volkswagen Group cars. The sedan is not likely to receive major changes under the hood. However, media reports claim that the 2019 Skoda Superb will get a new hybrid variant. It will be powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired to an electric motor. This engine is likely to produce a combined out of around 250-300bhp of power.
The Skoda Superb facelift is expected to be launched in the Indian market in the second half of 2019. The sedan will take on the likes of Honda Accord, Volkswagen Passat and the Toyota Camry. The company will also launch the Karoq, Kamiq compact SUV and the new-gen Rapid sedan in India in the next 2-3 years.
