2019 Maruti Suzuki WagonR Receives Over 12,000 Bookings In A Week

Official bookings for the hatchback were commenced on 14 January.

Maruti Suzuki India has announced that its all-new WagonR hatchback has received over 12,000 bookings in just a week’s time. Official bookings for the hatchback were commenced on 14 January, and its launch happened yesterday (i.e. 23rd January, 2019). Unlike the previous generation, the new Maruti WagonR 2019 comes in three trims – Lxi, Vxi and Zxi – priced between Rs 4.19 lakh – Rs 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Maruti WagonR 2019 has witnessed comprehensive design and feature upgrades along with a new 1.2L petrol engine. One of the major changes comes in the form of new Heartect platform that has already been used in the Swift, Dzire, Ignis and Ertiga. Compared to the previous generation, the new Maruti WagonR 2019 is bigger in dimensions. The hatchback’s new model measures 3599mm in length, 1495mm in width and 1670mm in height with a wheelbase of 2400mm. Maruti Suzuki claims that the new WagonR with 1.2L petrol engine delivers fuel economy of 21.5kmpl. This gasoline unit makes 82bhp with 113Nm of torque. The old 1.0L K-series petrol engine also continues to power the hatchback. It generates power worth 67bhp with 91Nm. Both engines are available with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Though, the AMT unit is exclusively offered on the range-topping VXi and ZXi variants.
