The 2019 Maruti Baleno RS facelift will be priced at Rs 8.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Maruti Suzuki yesterday launched the 2019 Maruti Baleno facelift in the country at a starting price of Rs 5.45 lakh. The company hasn’t introduced the updated version of the performance oriented Baleno RS. If media reports are to be believed, the Maruti Suzuki has also updated the RS version of the Baleno hatchback. The 2019 Maruti Baleno RS will be priced at Rs 8.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Similar to the standard Baleno, the RS version also witnessed a price rise. The outgoing model is available at a price tag of Rs 8.47 lakh, which suggests that the updated model will be Rs 29,000 pricier. The Baleno RS facelift won’t receive any mechanical updates. It will continue to be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is called Boosterjet engine. This engine churns out 100.5bhp of power and 150Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Baleno RS directly rivals the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI, which is powered by a 1.2-litre TSI engine producing 104bhp of power and 175Nm of torque. This model is equipped with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and is around 63,000 expensive than the Baleno RS. Similar to the existing model, the 2019 Baleno RS will be sold exclusively through NEXA premium dealership network. Also See – Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars In India
