The next-gen Mahindra Thar will be based on the all-new ladder-frame chassis, which will be stronger and can handle the upcoming crash test norms.

The new-generation 2019 Mahindra Thar lifestyle off-roader has been spotted testing for the first time on Indian roads. We informed you earlier that Mahindra is working on the next-generation versions of the Thar, Bolero, Scorpio and XUV500, which are scheduled to be launched within 2 years. The new Thar will go on sale after the new safety norms come into the place. A possible launch around Diwali 2019 can’t be ignored.

Government will soon impose the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP) and all the vehicles will have to meet a minimum safety requirement to continue sales in the market. The current Mahindra Thar and Bolero won’t meet the upcoming safety norms even after addition of safety features or modifications at the end of platform.
