Mahindra & Mahindra has silently rolled out the Bolero ABS (anti-lock braking system) model in the country. Official bookings for the updated model have already been commenced. Interested buyers can pre-book the new model online or via dealership network. Just so you know, the AIS 145 safety norms have been implemented across all passenger vehicles in India from July 1, 2019. It mandates the fitment of safety features including driver airbag, ABS, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder for driver and co-driver and an over speed alert for the driver.

The home-grown carmaker will soon give a mid-life update to the Bolero SUV, followed by its new-generation model next year. The 2019 Mahindra Bolero facelift will meet the stringent offset front and side crash norms along with the new emission norms. The updated model will also comply to the new pedestrian protection crash standards that will be enforced from April 1, 2020.

The facelifted version of the Bolero recently caught testing in the country. The spy pictures confirm that 2019 model year will feature a revised front grille, plastic trim on the sides, body-coloured wing mirrors and rear seat headrests. Currently, the SUV comes with the 1.5L mHawk D70 diesel (Bolero Plus) and 2.5L M2DiCR diesel (Bolero) engines generating 70bhp with 195Nm and 62bhp with 195Nm respectively.

The new-generation Mahindra Bolero will be more powerful, efficient and safer than the current generation. The SUV’s all-new model will be based on a new GEN3 platform and receive comprehensive design and feature upgrades. Reports suggest that the 2020 Mahindra Bolero will come with the BS6-compliant, 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine.
