Hyundai recently took the wraps off the Veloster N high performance hatchback at the 2018 North American International Auto Show. The 2019 Hyundai Veloster N is the first ‘N’ model from the South Korean carmaker for the U.S. market. Production of the hot hatch will begin in September 2018 in Ulsan, Korea. And its U.S. launch will take place in the fourth quarter of this year.
Under the hood, the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N houses a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine boosted with direct injection technology. The same powertrain has already been used in the Veloster Turbo. This turbo motor can make power worth 275hp at 6,000rpm (estimated) and up to 53Nm of torque between 1,450rpm – 4,700rpm. The Veloster N comes with an N Power Sense Axle geometry feature ensuring more precise and quicker steering response. It has a multi-mode electronically controlled suspension with a track focused N mode with the load transfer control system that not only enhances roll control during cornering, but reduces dive during braking and rear suspension compression under hard acceleration as well. What add more to the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N ‘s track performance are multiple driving modes – Normal, Sport, N, Eco and N Custom. The exclusive N-design front fascia of the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N gives it an aggressive look. The front air ducts of the grille enhance brake cooling. The high performance hatchback runs on lightweight 19-inch alloy wheels shod with the standard 225/40R18 Michelin Pilot SuperSport summer tyres. Other design bits include a large N-design rear spoiler, high-flow dual exhaust and rear fascia design with integrated diffuser. Inside, the Veloster N features exclusive N-design steering wheel, shift knob, instrument cluster, center cluster displays and N-logo door sill plates. It also gets N-design front cloth sport seats with performance focused bolstering.
