2019 Hyundai i20 Active receives contemporary design changes and updated safety features.

The South Korean carmaker has finally revealed the 2019 Hyundai i20 Active facelift via official pictures. For 2019 model year, the cross-hatch receives contemporary design changes and updated safety features including Hyundai SmartSense. Globally, the new i20 Active will see a seven-speed dual clutch transmission and an Idle Stop and GO (ISG) system. The India-spec model, however, will be devoid of it.

2019 Hyundai i20 Active Price

In India, the 2019 Hyundai i20 Active will come with the same 1.2-litre Kappa petrol and a 1.4-litre CRDi diesel powertrains that do duty in the current model. Transmission choices will also remain unchanged – i.e. a 5-speed manual (petrol) and a 6-speed manual (diesel). The gasoline unit makes 82bhp with 114Nm, and the oil burner is good for 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. Read – Hyundai 8-Seater SUV Under Development 

Visually, the new i20 Active crossover appears more refreshing and sportier than the pre-facelifed model. Face of the cross-hatch has been revised with new ‘Cascading grille’ and newly-designed bumper. The new 15-inch and 16-inch alloy wheels will add more to its new look. Most of the design updates have been made round the back. The crossover sports new taillamp assembly and registration plate which is now shifted up to the tailgate.

The European-spec i20 Active gets ‘Phantom Black’ contrast roof and new colour schemes – Clean Slate, Champion Blue and Tomato Red. There is no clarity whether the India-spec model will receive these updates or not.
